Dennis Curry Opeil, a devoted husband, father, and veteran, passed away on November 17, 2025. Born in Bethesda, Maryland at the Naval Medical Center to the late CMDR Leonard and Susan Opeil, who rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Scuitti Opeil, and his cherished daughter, Alexis Noel Opeil. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him-for his kindness, his steady presence, and the warmth he brought out.

A lifelong learner, Dennis attended East Texas University (now known as Texas A & M), Old Dominion University, and the University of Dayton. His commitment to growth and knowledge shaped both his personal and professional life.

Dennis served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a period that exemplified his courage and unwavering sense of duty. After completing his military service, he built a long and successful career as an IT Project Manager with Allstate Insurance Company, where he was respected for his leadership, dedication, and integrity.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dennis believed strongly in giving back. He generously volunteered his time at the Virginia Aquarium, supporting conservation efforts and sharing his appreciation for the natural world with others.

The family has chosen not to have any services, but encourages you to leave a memory of Dennis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the World Wildlife Federation, reflecting Dennis's lifelong love for wildlife and the environment.
