Dennis Patzoldt of Grasston passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at Welia Hospital in Mora at the age of 70.
Dennis Joel Patzoldt was born February 29, 1952 to Arnold and Ella (Marquardt) Patzoldt, Sr. in Rush City, Minnesota. He graduated from Pine City High School and found his niche in construction. Dennis learned to operate heavy equipment first with Pavek Brothers Construction in Pine City and later a telephone cable company in the northern part of the state. An active 49er union member, he was employed by Barton Sand & Gravel Company in Maple Grove for 20+ years. For most of that time Dennis car-pooled to work with friends in the area. The last few years he worked in their gravel pit running bulldozer. He was a “master” of his craft, even though he really didn’t always enjoy it.
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed and was very good at hunting big and small game. Dennis had the trophy mounts to prove it. He also was very good at making venison sausage that he shared with others. Dennis owned hunting land near south of Duxbury, where he and many friends and relatives spent hunting seasons together. The avid outdoorsman, Dennis was involved in snowmobiling and active in snowmobile racing. Dennis was a unique individual and really one of a kind!
Dennis is survived by his brother Arnie Patzoldt of Pine City; sister Ellen Patzoldt of Hinckley; sisters-in-law Margie Patzoldt of Big Lake, Bev Patzoldt of Pine City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Ella Patzoldt, Sr.; son Travis Patzoldt; siblings Bob Patzoldt, Judy Patzoldt, David Patzoldt, Gene Patzoldt; sister-in-law Dorthy Patzoldt.
A time for family and friends to gather will be held from 6-8 PM; Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the: Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City, Swanson Chapel
