Dennis "Sam" Wayne Allen

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Dennis Wayne “Sam” Allen, age 71, of Lee’s Union Church Road passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Beasley. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.

Mr. Allen was born on October 10, 1952 in Johnston County to the late Delbert Lee and Louise Byrd Allen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Allen. Mr. Allen worked for Waste Management in Kenly prior to retirement and was a lifelong farmer. He was generous and would “give you the shirt off his back” if you were in need. His family will always remember telling him to “Behave” and he would in turn tell them to “Be Smart”. He loved his family more than anything.

Surviving include his wife, Linda Allen; children, Dana Allen Davis and husband, Bryan, Jason Allen, and Stuart Allen and wife, Jennifer; step-daughters, Linda Wall, Lena Vazquez, Billie Overby, and Nancy Farmer; granddaughters, Samantha Davis, Abigail Davis, Hallie Davis, and Kinslee Allen; brothers, Delbert Allen, David Allen, and Charles Allen; sister, Norma Blackmon; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to SECU Hospice House in Smithfield at 426 Hospital Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577.
