Dennis Edward Walker, 73, of Natchitoches, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis grew up in Campti, Louisiana, graduating from Campti High School in 1969. Dennis worked at Red River Mill for 38 years, making lifelong friends with many co-workers.
He loved hunting many types of game, not only on Black Lake, but throughout the country. Fishing trips to South Louisiana with his fishing partners were a favorite past-time of his.
Dennis was a proud Charter member of the Krewe of Dionysos, enjoying the many hours spent working on floats and being a Float Lieutenant for the Bayou Bunch. He fiercely loved his family, traveling with Pam, and especially being PopPop to his grandsons Bennett and Scott.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Alaman and Marie Walker; his brother, Robert Walker; and his in-laws, Gerald and Dora Jeansonne.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Pam Walker; son Ryan Walker of Jackson, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Austin Niette of Natchitoches, Louisiana; grandsons, Bennett Niette and Scott Niette of Natchitoches, Louisiana; brother Chuck (Rae Nell) Walker of Marshall, Texas; sisters Glenda Carter and Toni Beaudoin of Campti, Louisiana; and in-laws Cindy and Burley Johnson, Jerry and Julia Jeansonne, Tana and Luis Saucier, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm.
Sincere thanks to NRMC Emergency Room, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport - Neuro ICU, Hospice of Natchitoches and The Courtyard of Natchitoches for their kind and compassionate care.
