Howard Dennis Bible, affectionately known as Denny, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on Wednesday, November 22, 1939, in Flat River. Denny was one of eleven beloved children, born to the late John and Esther Naomi (Holley) Bible.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his siblings, Doris Koenig, Helen Wilt, Betty Marshall, Muriel Brown, Nelda Bleckler, Linda Davis, John Bible, Vernon Bible, Raymond Bible, Ivan Bible.
Denny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and love for his nation. After his military service, he went on to become a self-employed dump truck driver, passionately working in the industry for over 30 years. His strong work ethic and commitment helped foster the values of hard work and perseverance that he instilled in his family. A devoted husband, Denny shared many adventures with his wife, Jackie, as they traveled across the United States on their motorcycle, exploring the beauty of the open road together. His love for nature extended beyond the highway; he cherished spending time fishing and caring for his cows. Denny took immense pride in his home, meticulously tending to his yard and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for his loved ones.
Denny is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Bible; daughters, Ellen “Char” Reese, Barbara Bible, Theresa Bible, Cynthia Shick and Angeletta (David) Miller; grandchildren, Athena Nicole Bible, Danielle Renee Bible and Jacob Michael Indelicato; two great-grandchildren, Evan Avery Ballenger and Sadie Nicole Charlotte Prescher; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen step great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends for his kind spirit, hardworking nature, and adventurous soul.
Denny’s family will be planning a Celebration of Life service this coming spring, and details will be published at that time. Memorials in Denny’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
