Jonathan Denny Gwyn, 78, of Newberry, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home.
Born on November 24, 1946, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Donald Gwyn and Harryette Denny Addison. Denny was a Navy veteran and was retired from Westinghouse as a Master Electrician. He had been a member of Christ Lutheran Church. His interest included hunting, fishing and following Clemson University sports. He had been a member of the Buckhead Hunting Club and the Goss Hunting Club.
Denny is survived by his wife, Catherine Martinsen Gwyn; sons, Wyatt (Billie) Gwyn, Mark (Mary) Cousley, Brien (Jamie) Gwyn, Sean (Sherry) McCubbins, Foster (Miranda) Gwyn and Dustin(Misty) Gwyn; daughters, Nicole (Casey) Catoe and Jennifer Gwyn; a sister, Catherine Sterling; brother, Barry (Betty) Gwyn; a couple dozen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. A brief service will be held at 2:00 pm where those in attendance will have a time to share memories.
