Denzil Fay Eddy

Denzil Fay Eddy, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world on November 26, 2025, at the age of 89, in the same peaceful community of Daybrook, WV where he first embarked on his journey in life on November 14, 1936; born to the late Terry D. Eddy and Lelia Rose McCord Eddy. Known for his steadfast spirit and unwavering work ethic, Denzil's departure leaves behind a legacy of resilience and dedication to family and country.
Denzil was sadly preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemary Wise Eddy, on June 10, 2025, his sisters, Iva Roupe, Ann Wright, Barbara White, and Emelia Polansky, as well as his brothers, Jacob Blaine Eddy and Billy Joe Eddy. Their reunions in a realm beyond are a comforting thought to all who knew them.
Denzil's memory will be treasured and kept alive by his devoted children: Sherry Shriver and her husband Mark, Eugene Eddy and his wife Earlene, and Gary Eddy and his wife Donna, all of whom also reside in Daybrook. His loving touch and wise counsel will be missed by his younger sister, Donna Lemmon of Holbrook, PA, and by his brothers, Melvin Eddy of Fairmont and Ora Eddy and his wife Vanessa of Daybrook. Denzil's joyous and generous spirit will be fondly remembered by his cherished grandchildren Tony, Greg, Crissy, Nikita, and Aaron, as well as by his delighted nine great-grandchildren, who brightened his later years.
Denzil proudly served in the United States Army, a period in his life that deeply influenced his sense of discipline and honor. After his military service, he dedicated many years as a construction worker, contributing his skill and labor to the growth and development of his community. His commitment to his work was second only to his commitment to his family.
Family and friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd, Westover, on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 4-7 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 29th from 10 am until the funeral service begins at 11 am with Pastor Sam Crawford officiating. Following the service, Denzil will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Brewer Cemetery near Daybrook with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
