Gayla, words don't come easy to many about a loss this profound, but there are some who have been very close to your pain, & very recently. It doesnt "get better" w/time; it just becomes the new normal. Let the waves bend you & let tears come whenever they will. I found it cathartic to write... a lot. I wrote in a calendar i kept in my car, short notes on the day a thought came. Im so sorry your son is gone at this young age. I promise you it gets 'normal'... that's no consolation at all. 'Live to honor his memory' is my best advice for public face. Privately, gnash teeth & wail until peace comes.

Derek was our broker as a part of Keith's operation although our family is also from the Portales/Clovis area. It was always good to visit with Derek and brought back a sense of our home and roots. Derek was a great guy. He was kind and efficient and just a joy to work with. Our family is so sorry to learn of Derek's passing and we wish your entire family peace.

I am a client of Derek's. He has been so kind and responsive with my siblings and me during the dissolution of our mother's trust. I'm so glad I got to meet him via FaceTime so that he was more than a telephone voice and email personality. His patience with my kindergarten-level financial questions made him dear to my heart.
