It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Derek Neil Miller on October 15, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on October 15, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee, Derek lived a life characterized by hard work, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to his craft as a carpenter. A proud member of Benchmark Carpentry, Inc., he took immense joy in building and creating spaces that brought families together.
Derek is remembered for his kind spirit and unwavering support for his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved mother, Nancy Cox; his brothers, Daniel S. Miller and Andrew S. Miller; and his stepfather, Claude Cox. Each cherished memory of Derek will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In honor of Derek's life and the impact he had on so many, a family-hosted memorial service will take place at Covenant Presbyterian Church 2461 Peachtree Street Atlanta, GA., 30305, on November 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share stories, celebrate Derek's life, and find solace in each other's love and support during this difficult time.
As we grieve the loss of Derek, we find comfort in the memories we shared, and we honor his legacy through our love for one another. He will always be remembered as a devoted son, brother, and friend-one who brought light and joy into our lives.
