It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

To Family, Friends and Fans of Derek Walcott,

A life well lived. Educator, artist, writer. As he aged, and in his pondering, he must have surely thought about what lies beyond this life, as we all do. It comforts us to know, that man...who is made in God's image...will not live a mere 70 years, "80 with special mightiness"....only to return to dust. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, we awaken from death, into a paradise of God's making, as He initially purposed. Until that blessed time, may He strengthen and bless you.

Derek Walcott was a talented individual. It is sad to hear of his passing. May though closet to him f3ind solace in the Almighty God's promise to end sickness and to unite our families in paradise. My deepest and sincere condolences to your families and friends.
