Derel Keven DeWitt passed away on December 27, 2025 with his family by his side.
Keven was born on October 4, 1962 in
Payson, Utah to the late Ogden Augustus and Mary Afton DeWitt. He was the youngest of seven children: Skip, Dana (Raelene), Mike (Janet), Debbie (Dan), Shawn (Tracy) and the late Derek Shayne DeWitt. As a child Keven enjoyed helping his dad at the gas station with his brother Derek and working side by side in the yard with his mom. He often described his childhood home as cozy and comfortable, that
when all his family came together everything felt perfect.
Keven attended Payson High School and Utah Technical College to study Machinery and Engineering. Keven was naturally handy and could fix or build just about anything. He also had a passion for cars and often bragged that he started driving at the age of six. Along with working on the set of the famous movie Footloose, Keven had a long line of career accomplishments, including running heavy equipment at the Walt Limb Construction Company,
opening Hot Wheelin Pizza in Spanish Fork with his wife Allison, driving long hauls in his green Kenworth, and helping build homes with Habitat for Humanity. He spent many years in the construction industry working for Condie Construction, Commerce Construction and Van Con Construction. Most recently he celebrated 15 years with Nestle.
Keven met his first wife Allison while in high school and became a proud dad to three children, Derel, Ashley (Jeremy) and Kasidy (Chris). As well as grandad to six grandkids, Max, Addie (Cole), Savannah, Mason, Ledger and Cassidy. Keven met his second wife Michelle and they enjoyed many years of adventures together. They later separated but remained close and Keven enjoyed helping to raise her daughter Hailey Mohler.
Please honor Keven in a way that feels true to who he was-maybe with a favorite song playing in the background while you work on a car, fix something that needs fixing, or build something new. His memory will live on in those everyday moments of laughter, pride, and purpose, because Keven was a man who found joy in making things better and bringing smiles to the faces of those he loved.
