1 month ago today, on July 13, 2023, you unfortunately passed away Uncle Derrick. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it doesn´t seem real. We may not have had a super close relationship, but our conversations from when I was a kid, until I became an adult were always intriguing. From talking about God, professional wrestling and Hip-Hop, the discussions of whatever we talked about were never boring. I remember the last deep conversation we had was when you, my mom, Brian and I rode together on our way to Alexis´s wedding.
I never thought that would be the last full on conversation we would ever have. At least we still spoke to each other whenever my mom and I came to your house. I did all of my grieving alone without anyone seeing me. I don´t consider this a goodbye, but hopefully a see you later. Rest in Heaven Uncle Derrick.

Some may say it was a pleasure to have had our uncle in their lives, but to us Uncle Derrick was a blessing from God that we are so grateful to have received. We are so thankful for the 2 1/2 years God gave us to spend joyful times with him. We will always love you and treasure the memories we have of you. God thanks for sharing your angel with us here on earth and thanks for giving us a heavenly angel that will continue to watch over us. We love you Uncle Derrick and we will miss you.
