Derrick Gehrke Obituary
Derrick A. Gehrke, born on March 20, 1970, in San Antonio, TX, passed away on January 16, 2025, in his hometown of Topeka.
Derrick attended Highland Park High School and later found fulfillment working at Home Depot until his retirement. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Courtney Garcia-Gehrke and Tatiana Gehrke, and cherished the time he spent with his family. Derrick had a passion for working on cars and bicycles, a hobby that brought him great joy over the years. He was also an enthusiastic fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs, proudly supporting his favorite teams.
Derrick was preceded in death by his stepmother, Emma G. Gehrke and his paternal mother, Janet Mari Long.
He is survived by his father, Ronald Gehrke; his sisters, Carla Blessing and Diana Lehman; his beloved daughters, Courtney Garcia-Gehrke and Tatiana Gehrke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Derrick’s love for his family and his vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who held him dear.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on January 24, 2025 at Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations, Funeral and Receptions, 245 NW Independence, Topeka Ks 66608. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Heights Christian Church in Derrick's honor.
