Derrick McKenzie Obituary
He was born on August 1, 1971, in Camden, South Carolina, where he also grew up. Camden remained an important part of Derrick's life and the place where many of his earliest memories and lifelong connections were formed.
Derrick worked in landscaping, a profession he truly loved. He took pride in his work and found satisfaction in creating and maintaining outdoor spaces. Outside of work, he loved sports and enjoyed following the games and teams he cared about. Both landscaping and sports brought him joy and peace.
Derrick was a devoted father and husband whose presence meant more than words can express. He will be remembered for his strength, his dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. Those who knew him will carry his memory forward through the lessons he shared, the time spent together, and the love he gave.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sade McKenzie; his wife, Sarah Honeycutt McKenzie; and his stepdaughter, Brittney Honeycutt.
Though he is no longer with us, Derrick's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Derrick I'm going to miss you. I'll miss the the visits and the phone calls. I'll always remember when I took you to sign up to play little league football and your first game. I will remember taking you on your first fishing trip and from that day on you loved fishing, and how Mom and Mary made sure you were taken care of. So many memories and yes you will truly be missed.
