Derrick Thomas was a fine man, not only on the football field, but in the community he lived. His commitment to children, especially in learning to read, is a model all people should follow.



Derrick will be missed for his awesome abilities on the field, but more importantly, for his wonderful contributions to the community. Derrick was a fine human being - a true role model for children everywhere. As was stated when the community learned of his untimely death, "a light has gone out."
