Derryl Gene Williams

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Derryl Gene Williams, a witty and spirited man who brought joy and laughter to those around him. Derryl was a unique soul who spent his time on this earth sharing his creativity and dedication with others, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Derryl was a master woodcrafter and a skilled guitar player. In his younger years, he played in a band, adding to the rhythm and melody of life with his spirited performances. His dedication and hard work were reflected in his professional life, where he served as a signal maintainer on the railroad at BNSF for 23 years. This was a testament to his tireless work ethic and his commitment to his craft. Derryl's hobbies extended beyond his work, including traveling to craft fairs with his beloved wife Eileen, and meeting up with his McDonald's crew, a group he held close to his heart.

Derryl was a dedicated family man, always making it a point to stay connected with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Steven (Cheryl) Williams and Timothy (Jamie) Williams, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Sanquist. Derryl was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Williams, his parents Sam and M. Ruth Williams, his sister Susan Dunlap, and an infant brother, Samuel O. Williams Jr..

A private graveside service to celebrate Derryl's life will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, Kansas at a later date.
