Deryll Lynn Hughes, 79, of Raytown, Missouri left this world peacefully with his family by his side to be with his Lord on January 25, 2026.

Mr. Hughes was born September 6, 1946 in Springfield, Missouri to William and Thelma Hughes. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Climax Springs, Missouri with his grandparents, Roscoe and Elsie Moulder. He attended school in Raytown, Missouri and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1964. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until 1970. Deryll continued his career as a Civil Servant working at IRS, GSA and the Marine Corps Finance Center in Kansas City, Missouri until he retired in 1995.

On May 28, 1971 Deryll was united in marriage to Kathleen Weakley and was married for 39 years. From that union, was born a son Kenneth Wayne Hughes who preceded him in death on November 16, 1995 and a surviving daughter Kari Lee Rowe (Ryan Rowe). Other surviving family are four grandchildren, Nathanael Rodriguez (Mickey), Johnathan Rohr (Meganne), Kaitlynn Rohr and Kayleigh Rohr, three great-grandchildren, Gabriel Rodriguez and Greyson and Leighton Rohr, several cousins and many friends.

He cared deeply for his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he could. He spent many days and nights in the woods hunting deer and raccoons and the fields hunting turkey and ducks. He was also known to have a Blue Tick Hound or Labrador Retriever at any given time.

Deryll will be deeply missed. A celebration of life for family and friends to attend will be planned in the spring.
