DeShun Montreal Jackson was born September 2, 1978, in Chicago, IL, the first born of Shunese & Deon Jackson. DeShun was raised in love by Deon and Kimberly Murphy in Kenosha, WI.
DeShun attended Kenosha Unified Schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. DeShun started his family with the love of his life, Erica Perkins, at the age of 19. Their union blessed DeShun to become a father to Kavari, DeShun Jr., and DaMarea. DeShun loved basketball and football. He could always be found cheering for the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. Most of all, he loved spending time with his friends and family-especially his only grandchild, "Shunnie Boi" He was a comedian, a great storyteller, and the life of the party.
DeShun was a charismatic man that commanded any room he stepped into. He was the light of many lives and the beating heart of his family. DeShun was preceded in death by his Grandmother Annetta "Nanny" Harmon, Father Deon Irving Jackson Jr., and Daughter Diamond Turner. He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife Erica Jackson; Children Kavari, DeShun Jr. and DaMarea Jackson; Grandson Ny'Shun Jackson; Grandfather Deon Jackson Sr.; Mothers Shunese Jackson and Kimberly (Kenneth) Mason; Siblings Jamila Murphy, Jemar Jackson, Kareem (Jolisa) Jackson, DeAndre Jackson, and Shabazz Jackson; Nephews Kishaun, Christopher, Nathaniel, Jaydeon, Jemar Jr., Amari, Jayden, and Kamal; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends who loved him dearly.
A visitation will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Sunday May 7, 2023, from 11:00AM-12:30PM with funeral services to follow immediately at 12:30PM.
