Desiree Escott Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 23, 2025.
Desiree Marie Escott, 35, of Jessup, died Monday at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the beloved and cherished daughter of Wilbur Thomas "Will" Escott III and Angela Zumbluskas Escott. Desiree was a high-spirited young lady which she inherited from her dad. She attended Valley View School District and was a member of its choir and band, where she played the clarinet. She was very inclined toward music and loved to write music and create poems. She would call her grandmother in the evening and would sing or recite them over the phone. She loved her cousins, and if they were ever bothered by something, they would come to her for advice or help.

Desiree was a light to her family, and her life and memory will live on forever in their hearts. She will be deeply missed more than words can say.

In addition to her parents Will and Angela, she is survived by her brother Sheldon Thomas Escott; her maternal grandmother Ann Marie Berchem Zumbluskas; her paternal grandmother Dolores Smith; her uncles John Zumbluskas and Mike Zumbluskas; her aunts Helen Kleinbauer and Ruthie Kohut; as well as cousins Matthew Dodd and Andrew Dodd.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John Dennis Zumbluskas; and her aunt Susan Dodd.
