Today I reflect on fond memories of Desiree and I taking the train home at nights when we worked together at Anthem.
She was a kind soul. She was also very pleasant and supportive to her teammates.
Rest in Peace my sister.
Condolences to Desiree“s children and family, and friends.

When I think of Desiree, I smile. We worked together at Anthem and her desk was next to mines. We shared so many laughs. We shared alot of our lives with each other, she always expressed the love she had for her children. Rest well my friend.

The 2017 summer team-building lunchon was a memorable event at Anthem. I was assigned to record the room where over 50 nurses were placed into small groups for collaboration. Desiree was in a group of three nurses tasked with building a tower using yarn, marshmallows, and dry spaghetti noodles. It was a challenging activity, as most of the spaghetti constructions either snapped or fell apart.

While I believe Desiree's group won or came very close with a tower over a foot tall, what truly stood out to me was witnessing the compassion of her nursing spirit as she worked alongside her teammates, genuinely valuing and heeding one another's ideas. Desiree was never afraid to speak up or tackle something challenging.

She possessed a youthful energy and was always willing to give things a try. I remember being inspired by her ability to critically think of solutions while still making space for others to contribute and shine.

But more than anything Desiree was one proud mother of her children, and their decision to pursue higher advance education. I will remember Desiree as the faithful mother who perfectly balanced self-assurance in her capabilities with the ability to laugh and not take things too seriously.

Yes you are gone too soon and too young, but may you take your wings & rest in paradise Dez.
