June 11, 2016 at Dunnottar Castle on the east coast of Scotland. Overwhelming to think we were saying goodbye to Des just five years later on the same day. "Dunnottar Castle is located on a rocky outcrop along the Aberdeenshire Coastal Trail. For over 1000 years Dunnottar Castle played a crucial role in Scottish history and holds many rich secrets of Scotland“s colourful past. The Castle has played host to some of the nation's greatest historical figures including William Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots and is famous for its role in saving the Honours of Scotland (the Scottish Crown Jewels) from Oliver Cromwell's army in the 1650s."

Sara -- I just earned of Des' passing and wanted to let you know how sorry I am that his bright light has been extinguished. But I'm very sure that he is now entertaining a new and appreciative audience. I have many memories of fun times with the two of you at BCP in Beaumont.

What a wonderful soul Des was. It took but a minute after meeting him to know this guy was going to be a friend and neighbor forever. We also shared the profession and thus I knew the career side of him. His dedication was as obvious as his personal charm. I'm simply glad our paths crossed in different ways and will miss his camaraderie, humor and just being himself.
