Dessie Barnett Obituary
Dessie Marie Sellers Barnett, age 68 of Andrews, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025.
She was born in Robbinsville, NC to the late Pearlie Sellers and Pauline Burchfield Sellers. She worked as a clerk at the post office in Andrews. Dessie enjoyed being on the lake, fishing, crossword puzzles and taking care of her fur baby, Rolex. She was a member of Meadow Branch Baptist Church in Tapoco, NC.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Chester Sellers.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Barnett; her stepson, Wesley Orton (Heather); her stepdaughter, Cindy Orton and daughter, Tami Barnett; her brother, Earl Sellers (Mae); her sister, Lily Oros (Mike) and Shirley Palo; her granddaughter, Hannah; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Onley Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sellers Family Cemetery in Tapoco, NC.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews prior to the funeral service.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Dessie was a capable and caring member of our medical staff for many years at the Peachtree Internal Medical Clinic. She was an expert medical transcriptionist who was loyal to the practice and dedicated to our patients. She was most helpful to me professionally and most kind to my family.
I will miss her. My sincere sympathy to her family and my prayers for God´ s blessings to her loving husband.
