Detzer Ramon “Dey” Roman, 75, passed away on Thursday February 19, 2026 at his home in Weatherford.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 1 in Prince-Gray Chapel at Browning Funeral Home, 116 Wheeler Street, Weatherford
Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Monday, March 2 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas
Dey was born August 31, 1950 in Panama City, Panama; son of Rafael Negron Roman and Berta (Barichovich) Roman.
Dey proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era and beyond. He would go on to retire with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was extremely proud of his military service, and would carry that pride the rest of his life.
He met the love of his life, Mildred Beezley, and they were married on March 23, 1975. They would go on to spend nearly 51 happy years together raising their family.
Dey was a car man, with a deep appreciation for muscle cars. He was especially proud of his ’64 Ford Galaxy that he had for over 20 years. He made friends easily, and loved spending hours “having breakfast” with his friends.
He loved to learn new things, and trivia. He could often be found watching “Fun Facts” on Youtube. He also loved classic rock music, of all the trivia, that was by far his favorite.
Of all of his interests in life, his first love was his family; his sons and grandchildren were the light of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dondi and Danny; and sister, Darlene.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred Roman; Deyvid Roman (Breanna) and Wesley Roman (Amber); grandchildren, Cameron Roman and Emory Roman; brothers, Dezi and Irving; sisters, Dallas, Dolores, and Dilka; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
