Mr. Devin Michael-Shawn Watkins, age 24, of Martin, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home.
Born on March 26, 2001, in Elberton, Georgia, Devin was the beloved son of Shawna Watkins. He worked as a metal fabricator and mechanic, taking pride in his craft and his ability to work with his hands. Devin was known for his hardworking nature and his willingness to help others whenever he could. When he wasn’t spending time with family and friends, he found peace at the lake or working on his Honda—two places where he felt most himself.
Devin was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, June Cobb and James Pruitt.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Shawna Watkins of Athens, Georgia; his grandmother and step-grandfather, Sandra and James Weston of Fair Play, South Carolina, Grandfather Noah Watkins of Toccoa, GA. His fiancée;, Harley Adams of Martin, Georgia; and his treasured children, Nova Watkins and Xamara Watkins, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Kayla Marie Collins (Luke) of Washington, Georgia, Gracie Belcher of Commerce, Georgia, and Isac Dicara of Commerce, Georgia; his uncles, Dustin and Cody Kellum; his aunt, Joni Pruitt; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Devin also leaves behind a host of close friends, including Julie and the late Shane Alzen, whose friendship meant so much to him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, and again on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A funeral service to honor Devin’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, located at 333 E. Johnson Street, Hartwell, Georgia 30643. Devin will be laid to rest at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown to them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors to assist with funeral expenses.
