I'm a bit late in saying this, but it's a shame to see you go, man. I know this might just fall onto deaf ears, you can't really read this, after all. I didn't know you very well back in Baker Co, but you were really awesome and I'm glad that, while we may not have been close friends as some other people were, I am glad I got to meet you, man. You were awesome. Live on in the afterlife, forever, my old battlebuddy.

I was in 1st Platoon at Baker 1-19, but was discharged from the US Army officially on September 21st, 2021. I left Baker 1-19 on September 13th, 2021 to the "Return-Home-Unit" (before this event). Today October 16th, 2021 I just found out about his passing. I didn´t speak with Devon much, but when I did we talked about Indiana. I´m also from Indiana, and we could relate to each other about playing sports in high school. I just wanted to send my condolences to his family. I truly believe that one day we will see each other in heaven. God bless Devon.

I didn't know Devon personally but became pretty close with him through online talking. He was like a brother to me even though I never met him. My condolences go out to the family and everyone who knew Devon. He was such a good soul and it's very sad to see him go.

I don't have to much to say, because I already said it multiple times already, but what I will say is you made my life better and I'll always remember you.

One of the greatest things in life, is knowing that when you move on, what your legacy will be. I can say without a doubt that Devon has impacted people far and wide, and his spirit will live on in all of us. He was truly a 1 in a billion person, and while it will take a bit to process this loss, i'm lucky to have been able to get so close to him, and spend the time that I had. I'll never forget him, I know a lot of others who won't either, so i'll see you homie in wherever life is after this one and give you a hug. TFE!!!

I met Devon (or Charlie as a lot of us called him) online. He dragged me into talking with a bunch of other people on voice chat and I met so many amazing people because of him. He could always make you laugh and had a big heart. I´m going to miss him a lot. My heart goes out to all his family and friends.

He grew on you surprisingly fast - you'd talk to him here and there, hang out, and before you knew it you cared about him. It was easy to root for him, because he'd offer you the same, no questions asked. He deserved more. All the little ways in which he was so undeniably himself add up, and leave one big empty hole where he used to be. I may not have been as close to him as others, but I'll never stop missing him.

I know his family may not know me, but Devon (or as he was known online "Charlie" or "beast boy") was one of my closest friends. Hoping for healing for everyone near to him, and I miss him dearly. Rest easy brother.
