On September 18, 2023, our family received the unexpected news that our beloved father and grandfather Dewayne Bailey (82) had passed away peacefully in the night. The man who built a foundation of warmth and empathy, who preferred kindness and gentleness to all else, was accepted into the arms of our Lord and Savior late on September 18, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 26, at the Sunset Memorial Chapel, 1313 E Century Ave, Bismarck.
Dewayne was born on March 21, 1941, to Dee Bailey and Violet Bailey in Regan, ND. Dewayne married the love of his life, Gail Bailey on June 14, 1974.
Dewayne had a strong work ethic in life and loved all his family. Dewayne (among many things) loved watching the Twins and Vikings on TV, cutting firewood to keep his family warm and most of all, loved spending time with his family. Not a day went by where Dewayne didn't talk about how much his children and family meant to him.
Dewayne’s family was arguably his most important achievement in life. No person’s face would glow as much as Dewayne when his family were near. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dewayne is survived by his two sons, Gene Fowler and Todd Bailey (Barbara Bailey), as well as his daughter Lisa and her husband, Nathan. He is also survived by many grandkids and great-grandkids – Brandin Fowler (Madison & Zoey Fowler), Dylan Frederick (Trish Frederick), Erin Fowler, Jordan Bailey(Siylar, Juday, Millicent), Kadee Fowler (Sage, Rorrie & Gary) and Tyler Mock (Susan & Amelia Mock).
Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents; two loving sisters; his wife, Gail Bailey; his son, Clay Fowler; and his daughters, Becky Fredrick and Karla Fowler.
