Dharmistha S. Patel, fondly known as Dharmi passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 25, 2024 at the Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ. She was 75.
Born in Gada, Gujarat, India, she immigrated to the United States in 1983, settling in Jersey City, NJ. She had lived in Lincoln Park since 2009.
Mrs. Patel had worked with the Century 21 Company in Secaucus, NJ before retiring 10 years ago.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Suresh M. Patel; and her cherished daughter, Bhavna S. Patel also of Lincoln Park, NJ; and a host of family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Puja Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 12:30pm to 2:30pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. Cremation will follow at 3:30pm at Rosedale Crematory.

My mother was a sassy fashionista who loved me fiercely. We found each other to be odd, but always knew underneath all the eye rolls was pure, unconditional love. I've been a mess for over the past 1.5+ years - with only gaining some footing without my pillar of stability. It's been tear stained, gut wrenching, brain swirling pain - but that only shows how much I was loved that when that love was gone in physical form it shook my core foundation. I will forever and always love this human, this soul (cause I can feel her around me) that struggled through turmoil, hearbreak, physical and emotional pain just to give me a loving foundation. Sometimes we think we haven't impacted lives in a huge way - but it is in the small loving everyday gestures that truly make the world turn. And my mom did this. I will never stop missing you mama!
