Dhurm Joseph White

Dhurm Joseph White (DJ), a cherished husband, father, grandfather, friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on August 27, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with lung cancer. Born on August 8, 1965, in Galion, Ohio, DJ exemplified resilience and determination throughout his life, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

DJ graduated as Salutatorian from Stockbridge High School in 1983, setting the stage for an impressive journey that included serving our nation in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force from 1983 to 1989 as a Nuclear Weapons Technician. His dedication and technical acumen led him to a role at Lockheed Martin in Kingsbay, Georgia, before he embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, operating his family business, Rising Sun Shrimp, in the mid-1990s which he operated until 2024.
He was a devoted family man, providing unwavering love and support to his wife, Deana, and his two sons, Dusty and Clifford. DJ took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, finding joy in every moment spent with his beloved family. His kindness extended beyond his family as he cultivated deep friendships and was well-respected in the community, always there to lend a helping hand.
A lover of rock 'n' roll, motorcycles, and firearms, DJ lived life to the fullest, embracing his passions with an infectious enthusiasm. His profound love for America was evident in everything he did, as he honored its values and spirit.

DJ is survived by his Wife Deana White, sons Dustin White (Danette) and Clifford White (Renae), Step-Daughter Jordan Wiggins, Step-Daughter Kayce Clark (Alex), grandchildren West, Demi, Georgia, Audra, Liam, and Shannon, brother David Gray (Tammy), Sister Carolynn Pritchett (Joe), Nephew Nick White, Great-Nephew Blayne white, Step-Mother Glenda White, many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is proceeded in death by both his loving parents; his father; Dennard White and his mother Jeraldine White, as well as his sister; Donna Kay White, and his nephew; Tyler Pitts.
As we remember DJ, we invite you to celebrate his life and legacy at upcoming funeral services. A public visitation will take place at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry on September 2, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, where we will gather to reflect on the cherished memories and the profound impact he made on our lives. He will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery immediately following the service.
Dhurm Joseph White will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. May he rest in peace.
