Dian Brooks, 79, of Dowagiac, died unexpectedly, at home December 2, 2025.
Her life began September 25, 1946, born to Paul and Melba Brooks.
Dian retired from Dowagiac Union Schools after teaching first and second grades for thirty years. After retirement she volunteered with Michigan's Southern Baptist Disaster Relief working in feeding, disaster clean-up and as a Chaplain. Hurricane Katrina was her first volunteer trip. Dian is survived by her niece Melissa Milligan, four great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Melba Brooks and brother Bruce Brooks.
Family and friends will gather in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, 615 East Main Street, Niles on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 with her service to follow at 11:00a.m. Dian will be laid to rest in Silverbrook Cemetery. The family prefers contributions in memory of Dian be made to your choice of Church or Charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
