Diana Bautista Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Texas Funeral Home, LLC - San Antonio on Oct. 30, 2025.
Diana Ortiz Bautista was born on April 4, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mary Lou and Henry Ortiz. She was the fourth of six siblings, growing up surrounded by her two older sisters, Marina and Patsy, her brother Roy, and her two younger sisters, Rachel and Joann. When Diana was around 11 years old, her family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she attended South San Antonio High School. It was there that Diana met her future husband Luis Bautista. They were united in marriage in June of 1977, beginning a loving union that lasted many years. Together, they were blessed with three sons- Luis Jr., Christopher, and Henry. Diana worked in the flower business for many years, as a delivery driver, and loved spending her spare time creating floral arrangements. Her creative spirit and hardworking nature showed in everything she did. A proud and devoted mother and grandmother, Diana's greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her eight grandchildren- Mateo, Nuggy, Baby Chris, Reubinski, Lovebug, Reymundo, Enrique and Graciella. She was their biggest fan. She loved watching them play softball, baseball, football, and you could always count on her to be cheering loudly from the stands, she also had a knack for yelling at the TV when her favorite teams, the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys, were playing. Diana was especially proud of her grandsons who had already graduated high school and were successfully working and building their own paths in life. She celebrated each of their accomplishments with joy and often spoke with excitement about seeing the younger ones reach that same milestone one day. Diana was known for her warm heart and her deep love for those around her. She always had treats ready for her "babies" and took pride in knowing each grandchild's favorite. Diana shared a special bond with all of her nieces, nephews, and their children, always showing them love and kindness. Beyond her family, Diana cherished her many brothers and sisters in Christ, who brought her great comfort and friendship through the years. Diana was preceded in death by her father, Henry G. Ortiz, her brother Raul Ortiz and her children's father Luis Bautista. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Ortiz, and her sons Luis Bautista Jr. (Ret. USN) and wife Marisa, Christopher Bautista (Vet USN) and wife Estela, and Henry Bautista (USN); her grandchildren Luis Matthew Bautista (USN), Noah Anthony Bautista, Christopher Michael Bautista, Reuben Andrew Bautista, Lovie Malenah Bautista, Rey Isaac Bautista, Henry Aaron Bautista and Gracie Sunshine Angel Bautista.
