I was lucky enough to serve with Diana for the past 12 years on the Bergen County Medical Reserve Corps. Her presence will be greatly missed as her contributions were many. I will never forget Diana's kind praise to me after I helped a patient at the medical needs shelter during Superstorm Sandy. She was quiet but serious in her words which meant so much to me as she was a great observer and teacher. We sat together during many meetings, broke bread together at holiday celebrations and walked to our cars together to continue discussions ignited by the evening's educational topics. I respected Diana greatly and was proud to call her a friend. My sincere condolences to her family, friends and fellow members everywhere she served. Diana gave so much of herself to her community and patients. What a great heart has gone to rest!

Diana and I met when we were both in our late teens while working our first jobs in the Los Angeles office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We became immediate friends and even double dated. I met my husband while working there and we were married in l956; however, Diana had already moved to accompany her grandmother to New York and was not still here for our wedding. We did, however, still remain in contact throughout the years since I treasured her friendship. She was a beloved friend and I will miss her immensely.

Diana was such a giving and caring person and offered her gifts to others so freely. Diana was a responder at the September 11th World Trade Center disaster assistance, offering her professional services to those in need. At the parish of St. John's she was active in the Aids Ministry and offered her professional assistance to our Bereavement Ministries. I will certainly miss her presence and our weekly conversations after the 5 o'clock mass on Saturdays.
