Diana Gail Burnette "Gail," 80, of Hebron passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at home on April 26, 2023.
Gail was born on April 22, 1943 to Ruthie and William Stooksbury in
Lake City, TN. It was in Lake City that she met Jim Burnette, the love of her life. The two were married in
Gatlinburg, TN in 1962 and moved to Indiana shortly after to start a family. Their love stood the test of time, and they were blessed with 60 years of marriage, three children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She lived a full life as an admirable wife, mother, Granny, and friend. Gail had a great sense of humor and was always laughing. She loved Tennessee, camping, crafts, playing games, watching sports, as well as cooking and baking, even if she swore that nothing she ever made was "Fit to eat." Most of all Gail loved her family, and she loved the Lord. She will be profoundly missed and always in our hearts.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents Ruthie and William Stooksbury and her brother Jerry Stooksbury. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Burnette; brothers Maurice Stooksbury and Mike Stooksbury, and her three children; Lisa (Jeff) Duck, Jacque (Joe) Bliha, and Tim Burnette. She is the adored Granny of Justine (Chris) Gillette, Rachel Duck Schrock, Ashley (Brandon) Mullins, Matthew (Kelly) Gorby, Adam (Maria) Gorby, Jeremy Burnette, Gage Burnette and great-Granny of Elyce, Quinn, Emery, Leo, Lennox, Bristol, Brayleigh, Hexley, and Adrik.
