Diana was a gifted educator who taught high school–aged students mathematics and needlework in South Africa, where she touched the lives of many young people with her patience, kindness, and dedication. Teaching was more than a profession to her-it was a calling, and she carried that nurturing spirit into every part of her life.
She met her beloved husband, Hans-Juergen Huck, in South Africa, and their love story spanned more than five decades. They were married on December 23, 1973, and together built a life grounded in faith, partnership, and enduring love. Eventually settling in
Corpus Christi, Texas, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and steadfast support.
Diana was the heart of her family-loving, selfless, and deeply devoted. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Her gentle presence, thoughtful nature, and quiet wisdom left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Diana also adored her animals, especially her beloved cats-Buddy, Piper, and Tiger (indoor), Sox and Skittles (outdoor)-and her loyal dog, Ronin. They brought her comfort, companionship, and daily joy.
She is survived by her two children, Lorraine Huck of Denver, Colorado, and Johannes Huck of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her cherished grandchildren, Lukas and Alex Huck, also of Charlotte. She is also survived by her sister, Helena Cruywagen, and brother-in-law, Botha, of South Africa; her sister-in-law, Angelika Huck of Bonn, Germany; and her nieces and nephews: Lachelle, Sandra, and Corlia of South Africa; Jan, Chris, and Natasha of England; and Linda (Marco) of Germany.
