Diana Maria Huck (née Vermeulen), a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and compassionate teacher, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Corpus Christi Doctors Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer and COPD. She was surrounded by love in her final moments.

Born in South Africa on November 17, 1950, Diana lived a life defined by warmth, perseverance, and deep devotion to her family. She was a kind person with a gentle strength, a generous heart, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Diana was a gifted educator who taught high school–aged students mathematics and needlework in South Africa, where she touched the lives of many young people with her patience, kindness, and dedication. Teaching was more than a profession to her-it was a calling, and she carried that nurturing spirit into every part of her life.

She met her beloved husband, Hans-Juergen Huck, in South Africa, and their love story spanned more than five decades. They were married on December 23, 1973, and together built a life grounded in faith, partnership, and enduring love. Eventually settling in Corpus Christi, Texas, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and steadfast support.

Diana was the heart of her family-loving, selfless, and deeply devoted. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Her gentle presence, thoughtful nature, and quiet wisdom left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Diana also adored her animals, especially her beloved cats-Buddy, Piper, and Tiger (indoor), Sox and Skittles (outdoor)-and her loyal dog, Ronin. They brought her comfort, companionship, and daily joy.

She is survived by her two children, Lorraine Huck of Denver, Colorado, and Johannes Huck of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her cherished grandchildren, Lukas and Alex Huck, also of Charlotte. She is also survived by her sister, Helena Cruywagen, and brother-in-law, Botha, of South Africa; her sister-in-law, Angelika Huck of Bonn, Germany; and her nieces and nephews: Lachelle, Sandra, and Corlia of South Africa; Jan, Chris, and Natasha of England; and Linda (Marco) of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hans-Juergen Huck; her father, Jan Abraham George Vermeulen (born October 1, 1922, year approximate; died November 9, 1978); her mother, Cornelia Susanna Vermeulen (née Cronje) (born September 6, 1930; died July 23, 2011); her brother, Willie Vermeulen; and her niece, Lana Cruywagen.

Diana's legacy is one of love, service, and quiet strength. Her kindness, grace, and unwavering devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, the 12th, at Seaside Funeral Home and Memorial Park (4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412). Guests may arrive starting at 12:00 PM, with services beginning at 1:00 PM. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person.

Following the conclusion of chapel services, the family will gather at Bien Merite Bakery at 2:15 p.m., 1336 S Staples St., Corpus Christi, Texas, 78404.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mission of Mercy, an organization close to Diana's heart.

The family wishes to thank the many friends and loved ones who offered prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
