Diana Moneypenny
August 13, 1949 – October 7, 2025

Diana Moneypenny passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born at Des Moines General Hospital on August 13, 1949, Diana lived life on her own terms. She is survived by her husband, Gary Moneypenny; her cousins, Durwood and Cheryl; and fourteen nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Merrell and Juner, and her brother Dan.

Diana was fiercely dedicated and loyal - to her family, her friends, her causes, and her teams. She didn't hand out affection easily, but when she was in your corner, she was all in.

She had a lifelong love of animals and supported many organizations working to protect them. She often said her pets were better company than most people - and she meant it, in the best way.

Diana dedicated 50 years of her life to Coulson Excavating. Her loyalty and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone around her. She shared a special bond with her longtime boss, Dick, whose support and friendship meant a great deal to her. Her absence leaves a profound void in the company and everyone who had the privilege of working with her.

Diana was also a committed sports fan. She cheered hard for the Denver Nuggets and the Denver Broncos. She had a deep respect for the WNBA and the growth of women's sports. Her own basketball legacy ran deep. She played for the Wildcats who finished 23–4, won the 1967 Suburban Conference Championship, placed 4th in the State Tournament, and were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023. She never bragged, but she was proud of that.

Diana was honest, loyal, strong-willed, and always showed up for what mattered to her. She'll be remembered not just for what she said, but for what she stood for and her wry sense of humor.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
