Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory - May's Lick on Nov. 25, 2025.
Charles "Charlie" Eugene Jones, 64, passed away at his home on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Georgetown Kentucky. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on November 24, 1960, to the late Charles and Agatha Hamm Jones.

After high school, Charlie pursued his education at the University of Kentucky where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and his master's degree in organic chemistry. He worked for both, University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville's research labs for several years. Charlie later relocated to Wichita, Kansas, and took a job with Koch, Inc. His work landed him in many places across the United States throughout his career at Koch. Charlie possessed a sharp intellect and consistently found solutions, no matter what challenges arose.

He demonstrated a strong passion and commitment to animal welfare, with particular interest in Boxers. He and his wife Brenda played significant roles as active members of the Missouri Valley Boxer Club. While living in Bellevue, Nebraska, Charlie participated in service dog work with kids at the local library. Charlie loved delicious meals and always enjoyed going out to eat. He was a long-time member at May's Lick Baptist Church.

Charlie was truly an exceptional person. His charm, quick witted sense of humor, and knack for making others feel instantly comfortable ensured that anyone who met him remembered him fondly, as if they'd known him forever. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Huff Jones; his parents, Charles and Agatha Jones, and great friend, Joe Pfeffer.

Left here to carry on his legacy are his daughter, Renee (Jon) James; his sisters, Vicki (Tommy) Prince and Debbie Jefferson; his brother, Robert (Carol) Jones; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; his four-legged companion and Boxer, Enzo and a host of extended family members and friends. Charlie also leaves behind three of his classmates from elementary to college who became his best friends, David McGee, Gerald Woods, and David Mason.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the May's Lick Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Charlie will be laid to rest in the May's Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caleb Faris, Landen Faris, Brent Prince, Tyler Turner, Chad Hesler, and Greg Hesler.
