**Obituary for Diana Lee (Meade) Whetzel**
Diana Lee (Meade) Whetzel, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Glen Dale, WV, at the age of 76. Born on May 15, 1949, Diana spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering spirit.
Diana's journey began in Glen Dale, WV, where she was born to the late Wendel Edward Meade and Elizabeth (Marcum) Meade. She carried forward their legacy of love and community spirit throughout her life. Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Albert Whetzel, and her brother, Eddie Meade.
A dedicated worker, Diana contributed her talents to the Former Marx Toy Plant in Glen Dale, WV, and later as a stamper at the former Fostoria Glass in
Moundsville, WV. Her work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew her.
Diana had a passion for music and found great joy in listening to her brother and son's band, "Family Tradition." Her love for music was just one of the many ways she expressed her zest for life.
She was an active member of the Harvest Baptist Church and participated in the Historical Society of Moundsville. Diana was also a former member of the Red Hat Society and the Dorcas Circle at Harvest Baptist Church in Moundsville, where she formed lasting friendships and made significant contributions to her community.
Diana leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her three children, Jason (Vickie) Whetzel of Lexington, NC, Daniel (Erin) Whetzel of Pittsburgh, PA, and Penny (Christopher) West of
Moundsville, WV; her brother, Bob (Harriet) Meade of Moundsville; five grandsons, Kyle, Evan, Michael, Justin, and Roman; four granddaughters, Amaya, Olivia, Raeleigh, and Tia; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 2 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church in Moundsville, where Pastor Larry Jenkins and Pastor Bill Henthorn will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Diana's remarkable life and the indelible mark she left on everyone she met.
Diana Lee (Meade) Whetzel's legacy is one of love, resilience, and inspiration. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
