Diana Whitten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holland Funeral Directors - Tupelo Chapel on Feb. 13, 2026.
Diana Lynn Mathis Whitten, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on February 12, 2026. She lived a life rooted in strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most.

Diana was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and fierce love for her family. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome - whether through her warm smile, her thoughtful advice, or the comfort of simply being in her presence. Her love was steady and unconditional, and her family was always the center of her world.

She was a woman of resilience and quiet strength. Through life's joys and challenges, she carried herself with dignity and determination, teaching those around her the importance of perseverance, compassion, and faith. Her laughter, wisdom, and nurturing nature will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Diana is survived by her daughter Kayla Spitler (Bradley) of Tupelo grandchildren, Alivia McCormick and Barrett Spitler of Tupelo. Best friend, Karen Long and the "Quacks." Countless extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her.

She was preceded in death by her son, Corbyn Dylan Maddox. Her daddy, Charles E. Mathis. Mother, Julia "Julie" Mathis. Brother, Russell S. Mathis. Her grandparents and other family welcomed her home with open arms.

Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the love she gave so freely, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

A celebration of Diana's life will be held on Sunday February 15th at 4:30 pm at Karen Long's home. She will be taken to her favorite place, Daulphin Island, to watch one last sunset this summer. In honoring her memory, the family encourages loved ones to cherish time together and hold tight to one another - just as she always did.
