Diane I. Cardenas

Diane Irene Cárdenas
(nee Doering), 88 years old, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 30, 2026. Born on January 14, 1938, in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of Theodore and Helen Doering. Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved music (especially blues and jazz), traveling, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends, and she was known for her gentle spirit, generosity, beautiful singing voice, and being an especially sensitive listener. She is survived by her children Brenda Cárdenas (Roberto Harrison) and Steven Cárdenas (Mary Jo); grandchildren Carly and Brendan Cárdenas, Samantha Scott, and Lauren Marciniak; sister Helen Doering; and dearest friend Jeanne Carr; along with many other extended family members and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her son Daniel Cárdenas (Lisa), sister Barbara Praxel (Robert), and dear friend Alice Fularczyk. The family is especially grateful to the incredible nurses in the MRICU and CVICU at St. Luke's Hospital and the entire staff at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.

Memorial visitation at Prasser Kleczka Bay View Chapel, 3275 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207 on Saturday, April 11, 2026, 10AM-12PM. Memorial service to follow at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice would be most appreciated.
