ELYSBURG - Diane "Cookie" Ciocco, 81, of Elysburg, passed away on May 13, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem, after a nine-year illness.
She was born on May 27, 1942, in Shamokin, the daughter of the late Edward and Cecelia (Swartz) Lashendock.
Diane was a 1959 graduate of Kulpmont High School. She married Donald Ciocco in 1962 in St. Peter's Church.
Throughout her life, she embraced roles as a devoted homemaker, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. Among her passions were ceramics, crocheting, bingo and casino trips. Diane was an avid fan of Duke basketball, Phillies baseball, and 76ers basketball.
Diane was a member of the Catholic faith.
Diane is survived by her husband, Donald Ciocco, together they shared 61 years of marriage; children, Christine (Richard) Todisco, Donald Jr. (Lisa), Edward (Deanna), and Joseph (Melissa); nine grandchildren, Heather (William), Kirstie (Devon), Ashley (Michael), Kimberly (Derek), Brandon (Rachel), Ryan, Hailey, Nathan, and Addison; three great-grandchildren, Stella, Brooks, DJ, and another great-grandchild due in September; two sisters, Shirley (Ronald) Lutz and Cindy (Joe) Marshalek; a sister-in-law, Alberta (Nicholas) Politi; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by a sister, Edwina Raymond; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wolfe and her husband, Anthony.
Diane's family would like to thank the Quakertown Nursing Center, St. Luke's Hospital - Upper Bucks Campus and St. Luke's Hospice House for the exceptional care that was given to their mother. A special thank you to Noelle Mallery and Ella Coffee for the compassionate and outstanding personal care that they provided to Diane over the past few years.
CIOCCO - Diane "Cookie" Ciocco, 81, of Elysburg. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
