Diane E. Cirelli age 76 late of Mokena, IL. Beloved wife of James Cirelli (1945-2013). Also preceded in death by parents Phillip and Evelyn Holden. Loving mother of Joseph (Sara) and Michelle Costello. Proud grandmother of Julie (Kyle), Sean, Kate, Jenna, and Joseph. Caring sister of Chuck (Jill) Holden and Joyce (Dennis) De Silva. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Diane was so very excited to take on a new role of Great Grandmother in the upcoming weeks.

Diane, born and raised in Chicago, was a graduate of Fenger High School. She earned an associate's degree in accounting at South Suburban College. After raising her children while working part-time and creating a side business, she ultimately landed her favorite position as a Field Representative with the U.S. Census Bureau in 2006, where she worked until retirement in 2022.

Diane was incredibly creative, intelligent and was an original DIYer. She was a self-taught welder, with a business making and selling custom window well grates. She loved Halloween and creating elaborate hand built displays which earned several awards in Mokena.

She lived life to the fullest, was known for her pastimes of scuba diving, demolition derby driving, boating, waterskiing, caregiving and building her backyard oasis with her Koi pond.

Diane remained fiercely independent while battling Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by Family while visiting Texas.

Visitation is Thursday, January 22, 2026, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 South Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL. Interment is private.
