Diane “Dee” B. Colbourne passed away peacefully at her home in Morehead City, North Carolina, on November 8, 2025.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Dee spent many fulfilling years in Rocky Hill before relocating to Morehead City to enjoy her retirement by the coast. She built a distinguished career as a finance manager at The Hartford Courant, where her professionalism, diligence, and warm spirit earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
A voracious reader and lifelong learner, Dee found joy and comfort in books of every kind. She was known for her sharp wit, gentle heart, and her ability to find humor and light even in life’s challenges. Her love of stories extended beyond the page—she cherished sharing laughter, memories, and meaningful conversations with those she held dear.
Dee’s presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever remember her intelligence, generosity, and unwavering kindness.
Dee is survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Kearney and her husband Rich of E. Hartford, CT and Patty Colbourne of Hartford, CT, and brother Bob Colbourne and his wife Pauline of Anderson, SC. Dee leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews, who will always remember her warmth, generosity, and the special place she held in their lives. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her many friends and extended family, who will forever remember her intelligence, compassion, and unwavering kindness.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Colbourne.
