Diane Grandison Obituary

Diane Burke Grandison
Diane Burke Grandison, age 83, passed away on July 19, 2025, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, CT after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 5, 1942, in Stamford, Connecticut, Diane lived a life marked by quiet strength, a deep devotion to her family and enduring grace. She was known for her beautiful smile and the warmth she extended to everyone she met.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Burke and grew up in Stamford, CT. Diane attended St. Mary's School and Stamford Catholic High School where she graduated from in 1960.
Diane was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Michael, with whom she shared many cherished memories during 38 years of marriage. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted children - son Michael, his wife Cecilia (Westchester, NY), daughter Amy and her husband Tim Swaller (Milford). She took great pride in her family and found immense joy in spending time with her "babies"-Emma, Olivia, and Evan (Swaller), Caroline and Lauren (Ryan) and grand-dogs Barkley and Chewie.
Diane also leaves behind her sister Patricia (William) Fasolino (Rye Brook, NY); aunts, Marcia Calomino (Stamford) and Margaret Kallaway (Norwalk); niece Robin (Dan) Ryan (Trumbull); nephew Brian Vazquez (Norwalk); and numerous cousins and friends who were dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Maureen and brother-in-law Joseph Vazquez.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as someone who made friends wherever she went. Her kindness left a lasting impression on many, and her presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Diane would not have lived this amazing life had it not been for the dedication and care given to her by Dr. Richard Zelkowitz and his remarkable staff, Nicole Sandilands, Rebecca Colon, Jahaira Mercado and Tashena Chambers.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Pink Aid, an organization supporting breast cancer patients: https://pinkaid.org/donate-online/

I went to St Mary´s School with Diane. She was so sweet & pretty. A few years later as my husband & I were driving down Summer St a few cars in front of us stopped & slowed down & they were looking out the drivers window. As we got closer we realized that Diane was walking on the sidewalk, beautifully dressed with her flowing blond hair,& was so stunning that she LITERALLY stopped traffic. I will always remember her that way. Deepest sympathy to all those who loved this lovely lady.
