Diane Hagedorn, age 69, of New London, passed away following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while vacationing with family in Ohio. Born on August 7, 1955, in Algona, Iowa, she was one of five children to Dennis and Rosanne Weber, and shared a special bond with her identical twin sister, Denise.
On August 19, 1978, Diane was united in marriage to Jim Hagedorn. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and shared adventures. They made their home in the New London area for nearly 40 years.
A devoted healthcare professional, Diane began her career as a nursing assistant at just 16 years old. Over the years, she pursued her passion for helping others by becoming a medical assistant, a licensed practical nurse, and ultimately a registered nurse. Her dedication and leadership led her to the role of Director of Nurses, where she was honored as Nurse Administrator of the Year for the state of Minnesota. Even after retirement, she continued to give back to the profession by mentoring caregivers and teaching certified nursing assistant classes.
She was well-known for her infectious laugh, love of life, and unstoppable energy. Whether she was planning the next event or diving into a new hobby, she was always on the move. Her passions included bike riding, motorcycling, snowmobiling, golfing, pickleball, playing cards, reading/book club, cooking, shopping, volunteering, and was always planning her next vacation.
Family was at the heart of everything she did. She made a house a home and was a caregiver to all. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 47 years, Jim Hagedorn; her three children: Brad (Ashley) Hagedorn, Kimberly (James) Kleven, and Kristine Hagedorn (Jared Blitvich); and her six cherished grandchildren: Brent, Carsen, Logan, Elias, Eden, and William. She is also survived by a wide circle of friends and family who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved newborn son, Brent David Hagedorn, her parents, Dennis and Rosanne Weber; her brother, Doug Weber; her mother and father-in-law, Madonna and Merrill Hagedorn, and her sister-in-law, Deb Richter.
A lifetime filled with laughter, silliness, generosity, and adventure, Diane lived fully and touched countless lives along the way. From cross-country trips to moments with family, her life was rich with unforgettable memories. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the lives she lifted, and the vibrant joy she brought wherever she went.
