Diane Louise Hunter, age 64, of Meshoppen, PA passed away at her home on Monday evening, September 22, 2025, with her family by her side.

She was born on October 4, 1960, in Sayre, PA the daughter of Charlotte Louise Williams Wiggins and the late Raymond Allyn Wiggins. She was a graduate of the Owego Free Academy with the class of 1979.

After high school she worked at Tioga Downs, until she married the love of her life, Franklin P. Hunter on April 2, 1982. Together they owned and operated the Hunter Dairy Farm, located outside Meshoppen for over 8 years. That was until the price of milk dropped and the farm ended, she was worked as well as being a full-time housewife at jobs including Nepp Wire Factory in Meshoppen, PA and Dandy in Laceyville for many years, then Kane Warehouse in Tunkhannock.

Her family would have a wonderful garden every year and Diane loved canning the vegetables from the garden. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and word searches and listening to soft rock. She would often reminisce about the Elvis concert she went to when she was younger. She regularly watched wrestling and car races on TV. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her husband, Franklin Hunter; her children, Carl Hunter and his fiancé, Christine Verret of Selinsgrove, PA, Raymond Hunter of Meshoppen, PA, and Heidi Benscoter and her husband, Bryan of West Auburn, PA; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Emily Hunter, and Leah and Hunter Benscoter; her mother, Charlotte Wiggins of Elmira, NY; her siblings, Bryan Wiggins (Victoria) of Tioga Center, NY, Doug Swarts of Candor, NY, Phillip Swarts (Dorothy) of Candor, NY, Linda Kolmel (George) of Richford, NY, Connie Kelley of Glen Aubrey, NY and Lori Perkins (Donald) of Johnson City, NY; her uncle, Tom L. Wiggins of Ocala, FL; Diane's husband's sister, Donna Manning of Vestal, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Pierce Hunter (d. April 15, 2015); her brothers, Daryl Wiggins and Michael Wiggins; and her brothers/sisters-in-law, Norma Hebner Corey and both husbands, Chuck and Phil, Lorraine and William White, Phyllis and Ben Cole, and Donna's late husband, Guy Manning.

Abiding with Diane's wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Diane's name to Allied Services, 200 South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
