Diane Hunter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eastlake Mortuary - Phoenix on Jan. 14, 2026.
Diane Hunter, 72, of Queen Creek, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2026. Born on March 19, 1953, to Dan and Everlee McCutcheon in Lubbock, Texas, Diane grew into a woman of immense grace, talent, and intellect.

Diane was a proud 1972 graduate of Estacado High School, where she shared her vibrant spirit as a member of the band and a majorette. It was during those formative high school years that she met her soulmate and high school sweetheart, Charles. They were united in marriage on September 29, 1975, and recently celebrated a remarkable 50 years of marriage-a beautiful testament to a love that only grew deeper and stronger with every passing year.

A woman of profound faith, Diane was an active and dedicated member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Her voice was a gift she shared freely in the choir, and she was honored to serve on the church's very first praise team. Together with Charles, she served in the Shepherd's Ministry for many years, and her love for music led her to perform with the Phoenix Mass Choir.

As a military spouse, Diane embraced the unique challenges of a life on the move with resilience and skill. She turned houses into homes across the country and the world, from Oklahoma, Colorado, and Washington to two tours in Germany. During their time abroad, she delighted in exploring the world, visiting Paris twice and traveling to Prague. Everywhere the military took them, Diane was a pillar of the community, forming lifelong friendships and touching everyone she met with her signature warmth.

Diane was a lifelong learner who took great pride in her education. After high school, she continued her journey to earn her Associate's, Bachelor's of Business Administration, and Master's degrees. These achievements paved the way for a successful career as a GED Administrator with the Arizona Department of Education. Outside of her professional life, Diane found joy in traveling, listening to music, and her passion for photography-using her camera to preserve precious memories for the family and friends she loved so dearly.
