Toby, Eric and Jason, Your Mom and I have been friends since she and your dad moved to Marquette County. We have shared our lives all these years and her passing leaves a hole in my heart. Our relationship has been long distance for years but you 3 and all the kids and grand kids have been her favorite topic of conversations. Love to you all, Mary Ann Carey

We are \"across the hall\" neighbors of Diane for the past 4 years, and although we seldom saw her we considered her as a good neighbor to live
near. May God rest her soul in peace forever.

Diane was a very dear friend to me. We met over twenty years ago when we worked together at NMU and attended the same church. Over the years we worked in different departments but still remained close. She saw the best in me and my family. We shared the same faith in Jesus and that made us sisters in Christ. We both loved some of the same music especially southern gospel. She knew all my family and they also feel close to Diane. I am glad she is now without pain which she struggled with a long time. I will greatly miss her, hearing her voice, and laugh, and learning from her. She knew something about almost any topic. I am so proud she was my friend and I will always cherish memories of her. She was a great blessing to me.

Sometimes a person thinks their friends are always going to be here for all of their lives! You and I met in DC in 1959 and have been best friends ever since! My life isn\'t the same now. I miss you! XOXO

To Toby, Eric, Jason & families: Your Mom was such a wonderful person, and I will miss her dearly. She had the best smile and even better laugh; when she laughed, it came up from her toes! Just a loving, kind, spiritual person. She could tell the best stories! We always had good visits when I got to the U.P. and I was so looking forward to seeing her this summer. My son Toby sends his condolences, too. Diane had knitted him a special Christmas sock that he still "uses" and "hangs up" at Christmas. Much love from Ellida

Diane was always so lovely to me, worked in nearby offices for a few years at NMU, her laugh and smile were the greatest. I am so sorry for your loss, sending my sympathies and prayers to her family and friends.
