Diane Mathis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tabor Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Brighton on Jan. 27, 2026.
Diane Gail Mathis, 73, passed away on January 25, 2026. She was born in Ross, North Dakota, and spent her early childhood in Tioga before moving to Brighton, Colorado at the age of eight, a place that would remain her lifelong home and heart.

In 1970, Diane married the love of her life, Dan Mathis, and together they raised two children, Corey and Christine. Diane devoted her early years to being a homemaker before returning to the workforce, where she built a career defined by dedication and integrity. She worked at Gaylord Grocery Store, then in banking, before a temporary move to Arizona led her to discover her calling in the court system. Diane returned to Colorado and proudly finished her career as a Clerk of the Court for the City of Northglenn, retiring in 2017.

Diane lived life with laughter and adventure. She loved boating, camping, riding on motorcycles, and driving her beloved "LADYDI" Trans-Am-but above all, she loved anything that involved her family. She was known for her quick wit and constant humor, often declaring, "I think I'm so funny!" Her favorite thing in the world was to laugh, and she made sure everyone around her was laughing too. Diane adored her grandchildren, talked with her children daily, and cherished every moment spent with the people she loved. She loved sitting in her chair watching her shows and cuddling her furry companion Libby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Glenn Bokn Jr. and Mary Ann Bokn; her nephew, Jason Ross Roberts; and her beloved dog, Cali.

Diane is survived by her loyal dog, Libby; her son Corey and his wife Beckie, and their children Tyler, Brandon, Miranda, Ashlee, Bug, Aislyn, and Dawson; her daughter Christine and her husband Levi, and their children Caitlyn (husband Brandon), Corbin (wife Bailey), Dano, Devin, and Hailey; and her great-grandchildren Jacob, Emery, and Carter. She is also survived by her sisters Carol, Sharon, and Teri, as well as her nieces and nephews Shane, Molly, Alisa, Brent, Karen, and Shauna.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 p.m., followed by a 2:00 p.m. service at Tabor Funeral Home in Brighton, Colorado. A reception and luncheon will follow at The Alli Event Center in Brighton. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home using the provided link.

Diane's laughter, love, and fierce devotion to her family will be deeply missed-but her joy lives on in every story, every smile, and every shared laugh.
