Diane Marie Smith

Diane Marie (Majeski) Smith, 74, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born on January 2, 1949, to the late Therese and Chester Majeski. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where before her extended illness, she served on the ministry team, serving others. Diane worked many jobs at both Pope Air Force Base and Fort Bragg. She retired in 2015 from the Mission and Installation Contract Command as a GPC account manager. She loved shopping, sewing, quilting, British television, and cruising. But more than these, she loved her grandchildren, and her great granddaughter. All who knew Diane knew that family was the most important part of her life.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, MSG E-8(R) Wendell L. Smith Jr.; children Kevin Smith (wife Connie) of Fayetteville, Brian Smith (wife Michelle) of Chelsea, AL; Grandchildren; Kathryn Smith of Charlottesville, VA; Abigail Smith of Charlottesville, VA; Trevor Smith (wife Emily) of Auburn, AL; Hallie Smith of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and great-granddaughter Anne Elizabeth Smith; sister Sharon Majeski of Fayetteville, NC, and brother Danny Majeski (wife Joanne) of St Augustine, FL, along with many dear and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 12pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hope Mills, NC. A Mass service to follow at 1pm.
