Obituary of Diane M. Thompson

Diane M. Thompson, age 70 of Iowa City died Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home in Iowa City.

Diane Marie Lockard was born October 3, 1955, in Twin Falls, ID the son of Jim and Shirley Fay (Enos) Lockard. She attended and graduated from high school in Kimberly, ID with the Class of 1973. She began a career with the former Moore Business Forms (R.R. Donnally) in Jerome, ID, transferred to Iowa City when they closed operations there in 1994. She worked here until her retirement.

Diane Married James A. "Bubba" Thompson on September 2, 1978, in Twin Falls, ID. Diane enjoyed working, her work family, her morning coffee, (noon and night) scratch tickets, and crafting. But nothing was more important than her family and coming together with her family for every holiday. She loved to decorate, carve pumpkins, make sweets and treats and always made a great meal to serve to her family and friends.

Her family includes her two children, Dustin Thompson (Mandy) and Heidi Whited (Tony); two grandchildren, Mackenzie Slater (Dallas) and Kaitlyn Thompson; great-grandson, Caden Slater; and two siblings, Rick Lockard (Marylea) and Linda Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim.
