Diane C. Welby

Diane Carol Welby, age 73, of Clyde, passed away on September 27, 2025 in the Blue Water Hospice Home, with her family by her side. She was born on December 25, 1951, in Grosse Pointe Farms to the late Neil and Betty Van Tongeren. Diane married Richard J. Welby on April 8, 1978 in East Detroit. On any occasion or situation Diane would offer "What can I do?" to help and she was always loving and caring. A gentle soul, an angel and a hero to many, she will be remembered and missed. She is survived by her husband, Richard, son, James (Melanie) Welby, daughter, Rachel (Cody) Hayman, grandchildren; Harper Hayman, Carter Hayman, Jade Welby, Malachi Welby and Meekah Welby, and brothers; Dirk (Ann) Van Tongeren, and Don (Mary) Van Tongeren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Van Tongeren. Private services have taken place. Arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home- Port Huron.
